Pilot Opportunity

Our pilot social intervention programme for children gives primary schools the chance to trial a structured social-emotional learning programme at no cost. This initiative helps teachers and pastoral staff implement practical strategies while gathering evidence of impact and contributing to programme refinement.

The Pilot Provides

Participating schools receive:

  • Access to fully developed, classroom-ready materials
  • Opportunities to evaluate impact in real classroom contexts
  • The chance to provide feedback that informs refinement and future rollout
  • A sample of the programme available via the link on this page

In addition, schools help shape a programme designed to improve children’s emotional wellbeing, engagement, and overall classroom climate.
Schools interested in participating or discussing suitability are invited to make contact.

Impact and Outcomes

Our focus is on creating systems that work at scale. Schools taking part can expect:

  • Calmer, more predictable learning environments
  • Improved pupil engagement and participation
  • Reduced staff overwhelm
  • Effective use of time and resources

Furthermore, we believe inclusive provision strengthens schools as a whole, supporting pupils, staff, and systems simultaneously.

Pilot Social Intervention Programme for Children – The Emotion Toolbox

Join our pilot social intervention programme for children and trial The Emotion Toolbox, a fully scripted emotional regulation programme for children aged 4–11. Designed to keep children in class and support staff, it provides practical, SEND-inclusive tools to help pupils manage emotions safely and independently — with no specialist training required.

What Schools Receive

Participating schools get:

  • Fully scripted classroom sessions with ready-to-use materials
  • Creative coping strategies using movement, breathing, mindfulness, drawing, and simple problem-solving
  • Structured tools to reduce emotional escalations and lesson disruption
  • Opportunities to trial interventions and provide feedback to refine the programme

In addition, schools play a key role in shaping a structured, evidence-informed programme that supports both staff and pupils.

Why It Works

Across primary schools, unsupported emotions often cause:

  • Behaviour incidents
  • Reduced engagement with learning
  • Pupils leaving class during emotional escalations
  • Significant staff time supervising distress outside lessons

Therefore, the Emotion Toolbox explicitly teaches children how to regulate their emotions rather than relying on reactive behaviour management. As a result, pupils stay in class, learning continues, and staff can focus on teaching.

Impact for Schools

More Time in Class

  • Fewer emotional escalations and faster recovery
  • Reduced need for withdrawal from lessons
  • This keeps pupils in classrooms, protecting teaching time and reducing pastoral removals

Improved Academic Outcomes

  • Social and Emotional Learning enhances readiness to learn
  • Emotional regulation supports both wellbeing and academic progress

Reduced Staff Workload

  • Ready-made scripts and structured sessions
  • Consistent language across school
  • Practical tools reduce reactive behaviour management

SEND-Inclusive by Design

  • Flexible, movement-based, visually supported activities
  • Supports autistic children, ADHD pupils, and trauma-affected learners

Budget-Friendly

Free to use, printable, adaptable, and immediately implementable
